In HE, as part of Pillar 2, 6 clusters are aiming to tackle global challenges and European industrial competitiveness. Depending on your area of interest, may that be health, climate, energy and mobility or digital, industry and space, there are separate HE Info Days dedicated to such topics and clusters. As the programme implementation develops, new thematic info-days are organized based on the topic schedule of the Horizon Europe work programmes and the publication of new calls for proposals.

Dedicated HE Info Days typically span over 2 days and are there to introduce the current Work Programme, which includes numerous topics proposing millions of EU funding to support the best proposals. In fact, you will have a chance to hear pitches for each of the topics and to gain insight into the policy and funding context of the overall Work Programme. The event will also aid those who are new to the HE framework in dedicated sessions, such as the popular ‘key-to-success’ session that focuses on guidance and tips for designing and implementing quality proposals.

HE Info Days events are online and web-streamed live. If you can’t attend by any chance, don’t worry, as it is also recorded for later reference. Take the opportunity to ask questions during the event through Slido. Not only will the presenters address as many of them as possible at the end of their sessions, but you will make yourself visible to potential partners.

For those who are looking to establish their consortia, there is also a dedicated brokerage event, which is an excellent opportunity for matchmaking and for widening your network with similar-minded researchers, project managers, policymakers and more. Bilateral meetings can be hosted on the event’s website between participants from Europe and beyond interested in the same topics, seeking to share new project ideas and find collaborating partners, discuss and refine project ideas. Take advantage of this opportunity and approach as many people as you can. Even if they might not be the perfect match for your ideas, they might know someone who is. It might also be worth keeping in mind to share your interest not only in calls that are timely but in ones that are further along the timeline. For the best matchmaking results it is important to fill in your profile as detailed as possible while clearly stating the calls you are interested in, what you can offer to other participants, what you request within the scope of the topics and whether you are looking to participate in a consortium or to coordinate one.

In a nutshell, by attending a 2-day event such as the HE Info Day, you will be able to bring yourself up to speed with the latest HE topics and calls and to build a consortium with interested partners very quickly.
